Sexy Viking is more than an online store. It is an ideology. When they took my right leg, I went back to work. When they took my left leg, I went pack to work. When I fell through my landlord’s deck, I became wheelchair bound in a home not wheelchair accessible. I suspect I was evicted out of the landlords fear of a lawsuit. So I went to live at a VA sponsored homeless shelter.
The staff was great. The facility was great. The third floor men were not so great. I lived on the second floor with the other gimps. It was the floor with a ramp and other accessibility modifications. Grab bars in the bathroom, wide doorways and other amenities. It was glorious until the elbow injury from the fall got worse. Something was leaking into my elbow. That pressed on a nerve which prevented my left hand and arm from working. There was talk of sending me to a nursing home.
That was my darkest hour. I freely admit considering ending it. But then I listened to complaints about the staff and facility from the third floor folk. Boohoo you’re homeless. I was homeless, had one working arm, and no legs. But I was still close to exiting of my own accord. I called the Veterans Crisis Line.
Within days, they drained my elbow, restored some arm and hand use, and I made this video to demonstrate I could live and function. The Sexy Viking ideology was born.
Today, that arm is getting worse and I am still wheelchair bound. But my dog David and I have an accessible two bedroom apartment within power chair range of groceries. The VA provides a home aid three times a week and a case manager visit every other week. I can almost do this on my disability income. But what would I do with myself?
Theory is, the Sexy Viking online store will address both the boredom and the income challenges. If I sell things I can buy things to make more things. Your job is to buy things, so I can make more things, so you can buy more things.
